Madison Sports and Sportswork Group sign MOU to establish Sixdays Cycling presence in South-East Asia
Berlin/Kuala Lumpur, 2026-02-26
Madison Sports, the global rights holder of Sixdays Cycling, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sportswork Group Sdn Bhd, a premier sports agency in South-East Asia, to bring the world-renowned track cycling series to the region.
The agreement marks a significant first step towards hosting and establishing a long-term presence for Sixdays Cycling events in South-East Asia, with Malaysia positioned as the inaugural regional hub.
Track cycling is an Olympic discipline with deep roots across the region. Malaysia, in particular, is a global powerhouse in the sport, boasting world-class infrastructure such as the National Velodrome in Nilai and producing elite athletes including two-time Olympic medallist Azizulhasni Awang, Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom and rising star Nurul Izzah Izzati Asri. The partnership aims to build on this strong heritage while introducing a modern, high-energy format to Malaysian audiences.
Sixdays Cycling is the longest-running track cycling concept in the world, combining elite professional racing with a festival-like atmosphere. Through this collaboration, Malaysia is set to join an elite circuit of international host locations, including Berlin, Hong Kong and an upcoming project in Abu Dhabi, which will feature one of the most modern velodromes in the world.
In a landmark moment for local fans, the global expansion has already begun on screen. For the first time in years, Malaysian cycling enthusiasts were able to watch the iconic Sixdays Weekend in Berlin live. The event was broadcast on Astro Malaysia on January 30–31, offering a front-row seat to the unique atmosphere and high-speed action that the partnership intends to bring to South-East Asian soil.
The collaboration between Madison Sports and Sportswork Group is built around a shared vision to grow track cycling worldwide and embed the sport firmly within the modern media ecosystem. By combining Sixdays’ proven event and broadcast model with Sportswork Group’s deep regional expertise, the partnership aims to deliver a distinctive, premium cycling experience for fans in South-East Asia and beyond.
Valts Miltovics, managing director of Madison Sports, said: “This partnership represents an important milestone for Sixdays Cycling as we expand into South-East Asia. Malaysia has a rich track cycling culture and some of the most passionate fans in the world. Together with Sportswork Group, we see the opportunity to build something sustainable, modern and globally relevant.”
A Sportswork Group representative said: “Sixdays Cycling is an iconic brand with a unique heritage. We are excited to work with Madison Sports to adapt this legendary concept for South-East Asia. Bringing the Berlin event to Malaysian fans via Astro is just the beginning of how we will bridge the gap between global elite cycling and our local audience.”
Further details on timelines, host cities and event formats will be announced in due course.
